California is partnering with a New Jersey-based pharmaceutical company to purchase a generic version of Narcan, the most well-known version of naloxone that can save a person's life during an opioid overdose.
FDA approves Amneal's generic version of OTC Narcan
The FDA has approved Amneal Pharmaceuticals’ ( NASDAQ: AMRX) OTC Naloxone HCl nasal spray, a generic version of the opioid overdose medication OTC Narcan. The company said OTC Naloxone is now available in the US. Narcan is marketed by drugmaker Emergent BioSolutions ( EBS ).
