California was walloped Monday by a powerful winter storm carrying treacherous thunderstorms, high winds and heavy snow in mountain areas.

A blizzard warning remains in effect Sunday, as snow continues to fall across much of Minnesota.

Hundreds of flights are cancelled in and out of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Sunday, too, with airlines advising travelers to rebook their flights .
