On September 18, CDB Aviation said that it signed purchase agreements with Boeing for 50 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The lessor made the order to optimize its fleet structure and increase the proportion of next-generation aircraft in its fleet, with the 737 MAX 8 offering high fuel efficiency and wide market penetration among its airline customers.

China Development Bank Financial Leasing said its aircraft leasing unit would order 50 Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets, in a boost to the planemaker that has been grappling with a slowdown in Chinese orders and a strike by factory workers.

China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co. agreed to buy 50 Boeing Co. 737 Max jets, the company’s second major order in as many weeks as it adds newer, more fuel-efficient planes to its fleet.
