PHILADELPHIA— Joel Embiid’s endless injury updates read like this for the week — he sat out Wednesday night’s loss against Orlando, there’s a chance he could play Friday against the Magic and, no, the 76ers haven’t yet considered shutting own the All-Star center.

The 76ers have struggled without their seven-time All-Star center, who has posted career lows of 19.8 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in his four appearances. Philadelphia is 5-15 on the season, the second-worst record in the Eastern Conference.

Embiid will miss his 17th game of the Sixers' season on Friday. Paul George will return against the Magic, Andre Drummond was updated to questionable, while rookie Adem Bona is out.
