Butler' author Salena Zito recounts witnessing the assassination attempt on President Trump, and his belief that God played a role in saving his life.

This Sunday will mark one year since a young man tried to kill then-candidate Donald Trump during a campaign rally in Butler County.

Comperatore, a devout Christian who adored his family and two Dobermans, died while shielding his wife and daughters from bullets fired by would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, who had been perched atop the rooftop of a building adjacent to the rally stage last July 13.
