All 254 Texas counties woke up under some form of weather alert as a massive winter storm began its trek across the eastern half of the country.
A dangerous winter storm is set to bring a treacherous mix of ice and snow to North Texas, triggering a 100-hour deep freeze that will keep temperatures below freezing until Tuesday.
On Saturday at 5:07 a.m. EST a winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid from 7 p.m. EST until Monday 1 a.m. EST for Branch and Hillsdale counties.
The National Weather Service released a winter storm warning at 12:38 p.m. on Friday valid from Saturday 7 p.m. until Monday 7 a.m. for Atlantic and Cape May counties.

The major storm is set to hit starting on Jan. 23 and will stretch into the weekend, spreading snow and ice from the southern Plains to the Northeast.
More than 200 million people across the U.S. are in the path of a major winter storm, putting roughly two‑thirds of the country under threat. Up to two feet of snow is expected in the Northeast, while the biggest concern for the South is accumulating ice.
