Ryan Watson could face at least 12 years in prison in Turks and Caicos after airport security allegedly found four rounds of hunting ammo in his carry-on.
He called it a “bonehead mistake” and one that was accidental, but a new law has him facing up to a dozen years in prison. Ryan Watson was granted bail Wednesday but is being forced to remain in Turks and Caicos away from his wife and children.
Ryan and Valerie Watson were vacationing with friends in Turks and Caicos and now Ryan is sitting in prison. According to a Go-Fund-Me, the couple were headed home from the Cayman Islands when airport security found four rounds of ammunition inside their luggage.
When the couple tried to fly home to Oklahoma City on April 12, airport security in the Turks and Caicos Islands said they found ammunition — four deer hunting rounds specifically — in a Ziploc bag in a carry-on.
Ryan Watson is a married Oklahoma father who is facing a 12-year prison sentence in a Turks and Caicos prison after he says he accidentally brought deer hunting ammo to the islands.
