For better or (mostly) worse, the only way to fully increase the storage of an Xbox Series X/S is to use a proprietary expansion card. Three and a half years into the consoles' lives, there remain only two official solutions: Seagate's Storage Expansion Card and the WD Black C50.

Right now a 2TB Seagate Expansion Card for Xbox Series X|S has dropped to $222 at Amazon. Not only is this the lowest ever price for this particular expansion card, it’s also cheaper than buying two 1TB cards. Believe us when we say that wasn’t always the case, and this could prove to be a great way to more than triple your Xbox’s onboard storage.

If you need 1TB of extra space in your Xbox, it doesn’t get better than the WD Black C50. Seagate does have the upper hand if you want 2TB, since the C50 only comes in 500GB and 1TB shapes. Nonetheless, it's cheaper in the 1TB race and performs just as well.

The WD Black C50 expansion card is essentially a 1TB NVME SSD encased in a specialized Xbox-compatible shell. Unlike the more complex PS5 SSD installation process, which involves opening up the PS5 to access the SSD slot, the Seagate expansion card simply plugs into its dedicated port on the back of the Xbox.
