Kim Jong-un has been implementing some unusual laws in the last few years, but the latest is taking things to a whole new level.

The 35-year-old Kim Yo Jong has increasingly become the face of North Korea’s secretive and combative regime. The younger sister to dictator Kim Jong Un led the state delegation at the Winter Olympics in South Korea.

At a meeting in Ryanggang province, the attendees were told suicide has had a greater social impact than starvation.

Kim Jong-un called suicide "treason against socialism" and has reportedly ordered local governments to take preventative measures, following a rise in cases across the country
