Baltimore City has settled with Walgreens over the pharmacy chain's role in the opioid crisis, the mayor's office announced Thursday. The mayor's office said the settlement resolves the city's claims against the company for its role in fueling the opioid epidemic in Baltimore.

The company will pay the remainder of the roughly $80 million settlement reached last month by the end of 2025, the city said in a news release.

The opioid settlement tab for the Deerfield pharmacy chain, already in the realm of $5 billion, just got a little longer.
