The discount home goods chain said it will sell its business to Nexus Capital Management. Locations across more than 30 states won’t survive. Discount home goods retailer Big Lots has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after warning it had “substantial doubt” about its survival.

Big Lots filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and is closing nearly 300 stores, including one in Woodbridge, New Jersey.

Closing more locations will allow the company to have a “more focused footprint” and conduct business efficiently, said President and CEO Bruce Thorn.
