The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board will hold a hearing on Tuesday to determine the probable cause of a mid-air cabin panel blowout of a new Boeing 737 MAX 9 flight in January 2024 that spun the planemaker into a major crisis.

After a year and half of investigating, the top U.S. aviation investigator formally determined that Boeing and its chief regulator were to blame for the Alaska Airlines blowout.

Aircraft manufacturer Boeing Co. (NYSE:BA) is set to be probed for its role in last year's Alaska Air Group Inc. (NYSE:ALK) Flight 1282 incident involving a sudden loss of pressure in the aircraft's fuselage.
