Officials in San Bernardino County, California, issued an evacuation after a brush fire spread to over 7,000 acres.

Raging wildfires in California and Nevada are forcing the mandatory evacuations of thousands of homes as forecasters warn of a few more days of record-breaking heat for parts of the West.

The Line Fire more than quadrupled in size on Saturday and led to evacuation orders for more than 5,000 people. A heat wave raises the risk that more fires could start.

The small community of Running Springs has been ordered to evacuate because of the Line Fire, while Lake Arrowhead and areas to its west are under an evacuation warning.
