Multiple people have died in southeastern Kentucky as severe storms – including more possible tornadoes – roved across the central US overnight Friday.

Violent storms and long-lived tornadoes could hit the central and eastern U.S. through the weekend, bringing widespread damage, power outages, and dangerous travel conditions.

The National Weather Service has warned of a large storm system bringing heavy rain and a threat of tornadoes to the Ohio and Tennessee valleys.
