The huge layoff round that Cisco Systems announced in August is slamming a few Bay Area offices, according to new WARN documents filed with the state of California last week. When the San Jose tech giant first shared news of the cuts,

Cisco Systems, Inc. will be laying off hundreds of employees in the Bay Area, according to state filings with the Employment Development Department. The job cuts will impact 134 employees at the tech giant’s San Francisco office at 500 Terry A.

Cisco’s current round of layoffs will impact about 6,000 jobs as the company looks to sharpen its focus on AI networking, security and collaboration.

IBM, meanwhile, is cutting 58 San Francisco workers. The New York company has not said how many total employees it plans to let go, but in addition to slashing employees in The City, it’s also laying off 54 people in San Jose, according to letters its representatives sent to the state Employment Development Department.

Cisco has reportedly laid off thousands of employees in its second round of job cuts for the year. The software company had announced it would reduce its head count by 7% or 5,600 employees in August.
