The final full moon of 2025 treated stargazers to a high-flying lunar spectacle as the "Cold Moon" glowed among the stars of the constellation Taurus on Dec. 4. December's full moon was the third in a string of "Supermoons" — full moons that occur when the moon reaches its closest point to Earth in its monthly orbit.

A massive moon will soon rise in the night sky above California night.

Known as the cold moon, as well as being the year’s final full moon and a supermoon, it will rise higher into the sky than any other full moon of the year.
