This time last year, Elon Musk had yet to endorse Donald Trump. Then the assassination attempt on July 13, 2024 set into motion a deepening and chaotic relationship often described as a bromance, but which often seemed more like father and son.
Elon Musk continues criticism of Republican "big, beautiful bill" on X, calling it "insane spending" that increases debt ceiling by $5 trillion and threatening to form a new political party.
"If this insane spending bill passes, the America Party will be formed the next day," Musk wrote in an X post on Monday.
Musk departed from the Trump administration last month in a shocking public breakup with the president. Musk has campaigned against Trump’s “big beautiful bill,” arguing that it includes too much spending and goes against what his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) was trying to accomplish.
