High pressure briefly moves over Southeast Texas after Tuesday, bringing sunshine and dryness. But tropical downpours are coming back soon.

HOUSTON — Expect sun and clouds in the morning, giving way to a chance of a storm in the afternoon. Part of the area will remain dry, while others see brief downpours and storms through the evening. High temperatures should still make it into the mid-90s.

The best chance of storms in Houston will occur between 2 and 7 p.m. A few storms could produce heavy rain and isolated flooding.

It's a warm Tuesday morning across Southeast Texas with temperatures reaching the mid 90s. There is a tropical development possible in Northern Gulf by mid-week.

The National Hurricane Center has highlighted an area it's watching in the Gulf. Right now, there's a low chance for development.

While storms have remained below severe limits so far today, the National Weather Service has issued several "Special Weather Statements". Particularly strong storms are moving through Harris, Fort Bend,

HOUSTON - As storms pop up this afternoon, watch for a few that could drop 2-3" of rain. Storms should initially be fast movers, but could slow down by later in the day and get a bit heavier. A Flood Advisory is in effect for Montgomery County this evening.
