The U.N. human rights chief says Israel’s warfare in Gaza is inflicting “horrifying, unconscionable suffering” on Palestinians and has urged government leaders to “wake up” and exert pressure on Israel’s government and Hamas to end it.

In Israel, rescue teams combed through rubble of residential buildings destroyed by Iranian missiles, using sniffer dogs and heavy excavators to look for survivors after at least 10 people, including children, were killed, raising the two-day toll to 13.

The countries have been trading blows a day after Israel’s blistering attack on Iranian nuclear and military sites.

Israel unleashed a wave of strikes on Iran Friday, hitting about 100 targets including nuclear facilities and military command centers, and killing senior figures, among them the armed forces chief and top nuclear scientists.

Saudi-based news outlet Al Hadath reported that the strike targeted a residential compound housing Houthi leaders, located near the Lebanese Hospital, just south of al-Sabeen Square in Sanaa.
