Video. Israeli-American soldier Edan Alexander, held by Hamas for over 19 months, was released in a goodwill gesture that may pave the way for a new ceasefire with Israel.
Israel has targeted Hamas leader Mohammed Sinwar in a strike on a hospital in southern Gaza on Tuesday evening, according to a senior Israeli official and two sources familiar with the matter.
Alexander, believed to be the last living captive with US nationality in Gaza, was taken by Hamas during the 7 October attacks.
