Gov. Josh Shapiro sued President Donald Trump’s administration Monday, joining a lawsuit filed by 23 other states and the District of Columbia challenging the the decision to withhold more than $6 billion in education funding.

On June 30, the Department of Education announced it was withholding nearly $7 billion from public schools.

According to the lawsuit, $5.4 million in Michigan hangs in the balance for 17 summer programs for migrant students.
