A flare up in the Line Fire, which has torched tens of thousands of acres of vegetation in the Angeles National Forest, has forced new evacuation orders weeks after the blaze was first ignited.

A wildfire that has been burning in Southern California for nearly a month flared up again over the weekend, forcing another round of evacuations. Residents of Seven Oaks, a mountain community about 90 miles east of Los Angeles,

California has surpassed the dubious milestone of 1 million acres burned. In 2023, fires burned 332,822 acres throughout the state.

The new evacuation orders are for the Seven Oaks community. Warnings were also issued for the Angelus Oaks community and Boulder Bay.

A wildfire in San Bernardino County, California flared up on Sunday, forcing evacuations, after previously being under control. The Line Fire prompted the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department to instruct residents of Seven Oaks to evacuate as flames surged.

Cal Fire ordered residents in Seven Oaks and the Barton Flats area, including all campgrounds and cabins, to evacuate as the Line fire threatened.

Officials ordered a new evacuation for the Line fire Sunday, Sept. 29, nearly a month after the fire in the San Bernardino Mountains was first reported.
