Venezuela’s government has announced the arrest of a fourth U.S. citizen in connection with an alleged plot to kill President Nicolás Maduro.

The U.S. government has responded to Venezuela's disputed July presidential election by imposing sanctions against 16 allies of President Nicolás Maduro.

Venezuela says it has arrested six foreigners, including a US Navy SEAL, for an alleged plot to “destabilize” the country that has been in crisis since disputed elections earlier this year.
