A 6.4 magnitude earthquake has rocked New Zealand’s South Island at about 9am (local time) on Wednesday. People as far north as Auckland reported feeling shaking, with more than 14,000 felt reports on GeoNet. The epicentre of the quake was near Christchurch, which was devastated by an earthquake in 2011.
