Texas A&M earned the No. 1 seed today when the NCAA Division I Softball Committee announced the 64-team field and seeds for the 2025 NCAA Division I Softball Championship.

It’s no surprise to anybody that this matchup will far and away be the most challenging for Northwestern in its regional. Clemson are not only the defending ACC champions and host team, but also one of the fringe contenders for a national championship, NU will have its hands full trying to compete. But that doesn’t mean it’s not possible.

The NCAA Softball Championship ... The Tigers are coming off a Super Regional in 2024, while the Cowgirls won their second straight Southland Conference Tournament Championship this season.
