Hundreds of birds at a Queens live poultry market have succumbed to a new bird flu outbreak — less than two weeks after the shops were allowed to reopen.

Bird flu was detected at a Staten Island live poultry market last week, according to the New York state Department of Agriculture and Markets. The agency did not give the exact location of the market, saying in a statement, “To protect the impacted premise, the Department’s policy is to only release county-level location information.”
