Drug overdose deaths in the U.S. declined substantially in the past year, posting the largest single-year drop in at least a decade.

Missouri’s drug overdose deaths declined by 11 percent in 2023, according to a new report from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. However, nearly 2,000 people still died from drug overdoses last year.
