As the quest to find the origins of Stonehenge’s Altar Stone heats up, researchers rule out one Scottish site that appeared to have a direct link to the monument.

The prehistoric megalithic structure located about 85 miles southeast of London in Wiltshire, England, is believed to have been a unifying project between ancient civilizations.

Thus, the true origin of the Altar Stone remained an open question—until now. Stonehenge is a Neolithic stone monument in the county of Wiltshire.
