Reigning champions USA breezed past France in the wheelchair basketball quarter-finals at the Paris Paralympics on Tuesday to book a spot in the last four.

The U.S. men's wheelchair basketball team won gold at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games Saturday. The team beat Great Britain 73-69 to remain undefeated throughout the Paris Games. More than 12,000 people attended the gold medal match.

Steve Serio, described by his coach as “the heart and soul” of the United States wheelchair basketball team for over a decade, is leaving the sport on top of the world.

A late Great Britain comeback fell just short as they lost to the United States in the Paralympic men's wheelchair basketball gold-medal match. In their first appearance in the final since 1996, GB lost 73-69 to the world champions at Bercy Arena in Paris.

Minnesotans Josie Aslakson, Abby Bauleke and Rose Hollermann won silver medals three years after taking bronze in Paris.
