A tropical wave in the western Atlantic strengthened into Tropical Storm Ernesto Monday afternoon and is continuing to strengthen Tuesday. Ernesto is expected to become a hurricane Tuesday night and could flirt with becoming a major hurricane later in the week, according to the latest advisory from the National Hurricane Center.
