During his remarks at a rally in New York this weekend, candidate for mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani, took a jab at President Trump, labeling him an "authoritarian."

The protests are aligned with President Donald Trump's June 14 military parade in Washington D.C., which is set to honor the U.S. Army's 250th anniversary, organizers said. June 14 is also Flag Day and Trump's 79th birthday.

Communities across Western New York participated in the countrywide "No Kings Day” with all the protests totaling thousands of participants across the area.

More New York City protests are planned Tuesday against the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement policies and the new travel ban, as city leaders issue a warning against the kind of unrest seen in Los Angeles over the weekend.

Those millions included an estimated 200,000 people in Los Angeles, 100,000 in Philadelphia, 70,000 in Seattle and over 50,000 in New York.
