In the 37-count indictment unsealed Friday, federal officials say Trump stored classified documents in a bathroom and suggested his lawyers not cooperate with a subpoena.

The indictment said the former president had illegally kept documents concerning “United States nuclear programs; potential vulnerabilities of the United States and its allies to military attack; and plans for possible retaliation in response to a foreign attack.

One of Trump’s key defenses — that he declassified the documents — is irrelevant under the Espionage Act. Truthout is nonprofit and funded almost entirely by individual gifts. That means every dollar counts!

The indictment lists 31 documents in particular that the former president is alleged to have kept in his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida without authorization.
