A U.S. Army soldier has been sentenced to 14 years in prison having pleaded guilty to attempting to assist ISIS in killing US soldiers, including advice about potential targets in New York City.

Pvt. Cole Bridges pleaded guilty in 2023 to charges of attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization and attempting to murder U.S. military service members.

The sentencing comes after 24-year-old Cole Bridges pleaded guilty to terrorism charges in 2023, including attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization, and attempting to murder U.

Before joining the Army in 2019, Bridges had already been consuming online propaganda promoting jihadist violence, according to the FBI.
