A Verizon outage impacted thousands of people in Chicago for several hours Saturday afternoon, though the company says the problem is now resolved.

Downdetector showed more than 12,000 reports by 4:30 p.m. ET as Verizon users flooded social media saying phone calls were not going through nationwide.
