A widespread Arctic cold outbreak is triggering freeze warnings from southern Georgia into central Florida. The Great Lakes region faces heavy lake-effect snow (6–12 inches) and snow squalls with near-whiteout conditions.

The concerning forecast comes as the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast faced gusty winds and frigid temperatures on Monday.

Erie County will be under a Travel Advisory starting at 10 tonight as a long-duration winter storm moves into the region.

The winter storm watch issued last night, set to start this afternoon, has quickly been expanded in size and upgraded to a more certain winter storm warning. The warning message now mentions near-blizzard conditions.
