Brassica Rapa - Non-GMO, Open-Pollinated - Matures in 50 days! A delightful vegetable with thick, white stems and deep green leaves. This cabbage is great stir-fried, in soups, or sliced raw in salads!. A perfect and beautiful addition to any garden! Cold and heat tolerant. This non-heading leaf type has clusters of 8 to 12" wide white celery-like stalks with large, nearly round, smooth, glossy leaves. Gaea's Blessing Seeds are guaranteed to grow within 60 days of purchase! Gaeas Blessing is based in Illinois, USA. We are committed to promoting sustainable growing methods, to protect the biodiversity of our planet, to do our best to ensure the wellness of the environment, and above all, to ensure your satisfaction. As adopters of the Safe Seed Pledge, we do not consciously buy or sell seeds that have been genetically modified. Pak Choi or Bok Choy is a type of Chinese cabbage. Its Chinese name, "pak choi," translates to "white cabbage" because of its blanched centers. The stalks are crisp and the leaves are smooth and tender with a flavor somewhere between cabbage and chard. Plants form an upright head, with outward flaring leaves, and its white or green stalks look like smooth, non-stringy celery. The stalk can shoot up to twice the size of the plant. Flower stalks grow from the center of the plant and have the yellow, 4-petal cross typical of the cruciferous family. While this is a cool weather vegetable that does best planted in early spring or late summer, it is relatively heat tolerant and will do well even in warm areas! These vegetables are a wonderfully delightful sight in any garden and a welcome addition to any dish!
