This upright Vinca ground cover plant is sure to attract attention during the entire growing season. It tolerates poor soil, drought and performs all summer with showy blooms. Periwinkle flowers are suited to full sun areas or areas that get at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day. Soil should be well drained and these drought tolerant plants do not need a lot of water so be careful not to overwater. No deadheading is needed to keep the outstanding display going! Grow Vinca seeds indoors 6 - 10 weeks before the last frost is expected. Sow seeds 1/4 inch deep and 2 - 3 seeds per plant. Grow Vinca seeds indoors 6 - 10 weeks before the last frost is expected. Once Periwinkle seedlings emerge, they need bright light. At about 2 - 3 inches tall, transplant the strongest plants into individual pots. The plants can be moved outside once the temperature is consistently above 65F degrees.
