The Autumn Blaze Maple is best loved for its fast growth, up to 3 ft. per year and the fiery red of its foliage in the fall. This popular hybrid shade tree has fewer issues from leafhoppers and verticillium than regular maples. It is disease-resistant and pollution-tolerant. Great for Northern gardens, especially once the bark has matured and thickened, it resists ice and wind damage. Autumn Blaze will thrive even in poorer soils, tolerating clay, dry and sandy soil. It also does well in wet soil, even preferring wet soil in its younger years. Its lush foliage is great for privacy and screening.
