The small, reddish-brown acorns are 0.75 to 1.25 in. L. A Nuttall Oak tree must be approximately 20-years old before producing acorns. It has a medium growth-rate and reaches a height of 60 ft. to 80 ft. with a canopy of 35 ft. to 50 ft. The veins on the leaf are pinnate. In the fall, the leaves turn red. Nuttall Oak should be grown in full sun on any soil and is very tolerant of poorly-drained, wet sites. This should make it well suited for the soil conditions found at many urban sites. The plant is shipped in a #5 pot with a minimum height of 2 ft. and is hardy in USDA Zones 6-9.
