There are occasional splits in the individual shingles. This shingle is 3/8" to 7/16" thick on the butt end and tapers to an average 1/8" thickness. This is a contractor pack that covers 20 to 25 square feet with a 7" exposure of the shingle. Ideal for new construction, repairs and outdoor projects. The red label shingles are recommended for exterior or interior walls and are not recommended for residential or commercial roofing.
