Here is a timelessly elegant late 1940s to early 1950s dress in wool crepe with beaded decoration to the front, neckline and waist/hip. The beads are a mixture of small, clear bugle beads and larger pale pink iridescent beads. It has two self covered crepe buttons, one at the neck and one at the waist, these are for decoration only as it has a zip fastener at the back. The shoulders are padded to give a great shape when worn. The fabric is a light rust colour, the colour of the photos should give you a good indication of the actual colour but bear in mind that colours may vary slightly depending on your screen. When laid flat it measures 44" inches long, 18" inches across from underarm to underarm, 14.5" inches across at the waist, 19.5" inches across at the hips and 14" inches across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam. The sleeve length is 18" inches measured from the shoulder seam to the bottom of the sleeve. The condition is very good overall, the dress has been dry cleaned prior to sale. On close inspection there are a small number of very feint barely noticeable marks to the bodice that are mentioned here for accuracy (you will see what I mean on the photos) and when held against a very strong light there is some very feint underarm marking on both sides, this is not visible on the photos because it is very feint and it is hard to see unless you are looking for it.
